CNN Academy Simulation Week 2024

SPS proudly participated in CNN Academy's fourth simulation program held in the vibrant city of Abu Dhabi, where a diverse group of 132 journalism students from 20 different countries gathered for an intensive week filled with enriching classes and engaging simulation activities. This latest event offered participants not only hands-on experience but also invaluable insights into the complex and dynamic world of journalism through various simulation exercises that mirroring real-world scenarios.

Rex Brynen, a Professor of Political Science at McGill University, has posted at PAXsims
"The scenario this year addressed digital disinformation, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. The setting was once again the fictional country of Brynania, and it followed our usual pattern of simulated press conferences, interviews, press scrums, field reporting, social media, and investigative journalism—all interspersed with masterclasses and workshops on various aspects of journalism in the digital age"

The next CNN Academy simulation will form part of the University College Dublin journalism summer school in July.
