Connections: Next Generation, the future of serious gaming and game designers
We are excited to announce that Stone Paper Scissors will be a part of the very first edition of the Connections: Next Generation conference.
Connections: Next Generation is an online conference designed to provide an introduction to the serious gaming industry, networking for young professionals and students seeking to be involved, to provide a platform for DEI discussions and to inspire the Next Generation of designers.
Imaginetic, a game design company sponsoring the event, and members of the UK Civil Service have teamed up to show how realistic scenario simulations can be useful in any field, for any profession.
Through short lectures and interactive workshops, they will ensure a safe space for youth and professionals to (re)explore the basics of game design, and give the opportunity to showcase their games
At the same time (and this is where Jim Wallman of Stone Paper Scissors comes in), they will introduce fresh ideas and diverse thinking, taking Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity (DEI) and the Derby House Principles into the world of serious gaming, both of which are critical for increasing the realism of scenarios, breadth of thinking and creativity, as well as the quality of facilitation.
This event not only provides a networking platform where organizations can discuss prospects with young future game designers and players, but also serves as a fresh take on the next generation’s perspective of serious gaming for industry veterans.
Speakers will be from a variety of backgrounds around the world, such as Global Affairs Canada, the UK Defense, Science and Technology Laboratory, McGill University and the Centre for Security Studies.
