Outline

On 29 August 1949 the Soviet Union tested its very first atomic bomb...thus precipitating the world into the beginnings of a Cold War as the USA and the USSR sought to gain geopolitical advantage without triggering the use of devastating weapons of mass destruction. Both sides recognised the importance of orbital space and by 1953 both had successfully tested powerful Intercontinental Ballistic Missile designs.
It also quickly became clear that the Moon offered the ultimate in ‘high ground’ in the struggle for supremacy.

Gameplay

The game is loosely based on the real-life declassified Project Horizon (1959) files. It has a lot of juicy hard science technical detail, and there is also a healthy amount of science fiction.

Players develop their moonbases, compete over resources, and, at the same time, indulge in ‘brinkmanship’.
